At the MCA meeting on 3rd December it was confirmed that in future the Parish Council will be responsible for the Neighbourhood Forums (along with Bradford Council) and the Menston Newsletter. Also, Menston representatives on the Airport Consultative Committee, SCAPAG and WARD will report to the Parish Council not to MCA.

Similarly all planning matters are to be referred to the Parish Council.

MCA, with its charitable status, will in future act as an “umbrella organisation” for groups such as Menston in Bloom, Menston Business Association and the War Memorial Committee.

Committee member Roger Livesey is also organising Skype lessons for the elderly (taught by teenagers) and MCA has received a £500 grant from Lloyds Bank Community Trust for this project – Thank you Lloyds Bank and thank you Roger.

Similarly, Roger Livesey is planning to organise a film show at Kirklands as a pilot for a possible regular feature.

All this will require publicity and a Community Notice Board is planned which, besides promoting local events, will include a map, local walks and information about local businesses.
